Things to do in Bath, Maine this weekend June 2nd-4th, 2023
This weekend’s weather does not like quite as A M A Z I N G as last’s, but I find with a forecast like this, it’s best to wait and see, as the bad weather often doesn’t materialize. To assuage you, let me offer a revision of this well known E.B. White quote: ““I would really rather [have bad weather] in Maine than [good weather] anywhere else”
Friday On Friday night, June 2nd at 7:30pm, Chocolate Church is hosting Studio Two, a Beatles Tribute Band that focuses on the Beatles early years. Honestly, Maine gets the best tribute bands - is it our generally older demographic that makes us so susceptible to the melodies of the past? Maybe/yup! (We saw a fantastic REM tribute band, Dead Letter Office, last weekend in Waldoboro…and live across the street from Elton John!)
Saturday If the weather is iffy, why not try some yoga? Bath is home to a fabulous hot yoga studio, Ebb & Flow. At 8am Saturday, they are hosting a pay what you can fundraiser for Bath’s first ever Pride Event later this month (June 16th.) After, head to the Bath Farmer’s Market - open till noon at Bath’s Waterfront Park. Farmers notoriously LOVE rain. : )
On Sunday, the Caravan Artist Market returns to the Waterfront Park, from 11am-4pm. (Rain date June 11th-check their Facebook for updates.) This market is curated by Nikki Pilgrim, a talented artist herself and Bath resident (I teacher her daughter!). Bring all your $$ as you will want one of everything! (See impressive picture above with the layout of artists in Waterfront Park. ) Sunday at 4pm in the Gazebo at City (aka LIbrary) Park, get a taste of all the summer music to come with the Morse High School Rock Band. Maybe they’ll play some oldies!
Many of our restaurants -like Byrnes and Buranos also host live music on the weekends. Check their Facebook pages for updates!
We’ll be running both our walking tours this weekend - if it’s raining, we try to move the times, or we can move your tickets to another time/date. Feel free to wait to book until we know what the weather is doing! Enjoy!
