Things to do in Bath, Maine this weekend, June 17-19, 2022

Wow, is all I can say. There is SO much going on in Bath this weekend. Let’s get to it! (As always, check websites/Facebook for any last minute changes/updates.)

Friday early pm This Friday kicks off the first of the “every third Friday” Bath Art Hop. Artists / vendors will be set up all around downtown, just adding to its beauty. Add in a beer garden and live music and you have a perfect evening! The fun runs from 4pm - 7pm. Pro tip - bring your camera (or phone camera) as the afternoon light downtown is absolutely gorgeous.

Friday later pm, Maine Maritime Museum and the Chocolate Church are co-hosting two outdoor concerts this weekend, both at 6pm. Tonight, it’s folk singer David Mallet. Tomorrow (Saturday), it’s indie music, Mount Eerie with Ruth Garbus. What a beautiful way to kick off the summer! You can bring a picnic blanket and food and drink, but buy alcohol (beer for sure) on site.

Saturday am After hitting the Bath Farmer’s Market at Waterfront Park, 61 Commercial Street, reserve the rest of your day (10am-3pm) for Sagadahoc Preservation’s annual home and garden tour (10 gardens this year, 3 home interiors.) You can purchase your ticket in advance online ($30), or day-of ($35) at the Winter Street Center (pictured). Either way you get to pick up your ticket and map at the exquisite 1843 Anthony Coombs Raymond American Gothic Revival church (#winning) and get a peek inside.

Saturday pm I for one am going to be checking out what looks to be a very cool local comedy night at the Bath Freight Shed. The Freight Shed itself is a historic building and the “home” of Maine’s First Ship, just launched 2 weeks ago. Couldn’t we all use a few laughs?! Doors open at 6:30, show is at 7:30.

Sunday day *POSTPONED UNTIL NEXT SUNDAY DUE TO WEATHER* I have been looking forward to this event for weeks now - Caravan Artist Market - a curated, pop up market with 43 vendors setting up at Waterfront Park from 11am-4pm. Their first time in Bath, I think it’s going to be a good match. I have been just eyes-wide, mouth agape at all the gorgeous photos the artists have been posting on Instagram in the lead up to this market. It’s going to be truly special. Come ready for treasures!

Sunday pm Afterward, head just a little bit north on Route 1 out of town to Wiscasset and The Maine Tasting Center. New to the scene last year and open daily 12-6pm, this is part fancy food truck (but not a truck), part restaurant, tasting room, chef’s kitchen, classroom, music hall, etc., etc. And despite being so many things, they do them all spectacularly. That’s in part because of the owners’ vision and execution, and part because of all that Maine’s farmers, brewers, vintners and other food and drink creators have to offer. Indoor and outdoor seating. Prepare to leave with a few treats from their retail shop.

As always, we’d love to have you join us for a walking tour! Choose from Downtown or Washington Street, or since it’s Father’s Day - we’ll remind you we have seamless Gift Cards available on our site as well - just follow the link to “Book Now.” Have a great weekend!
