Things to do in Bath, Maine this weekend, July 8-10, 2022
Whew, Heritage Days and the Fourth of July parade and fireworks in Bath were so wonderful - great to gather again and the weather was mostly a “10/10” and looks to be the same this weekend! On to the heart of summer now! (But if store owners and staff seem a little weary behind their smiles, you know why!)
Friday night A free musical event 🎼 that promises to be amazing - Brunswick based Maine State Music Theater performers are specials guests at the Library Park Gazebo at 6pm. (Note the website says 7pm, but the event begins at 6pm so the performers can make it back to Brunswick for their performance.) There, in our very own Gazebo, musical theater performers will be singing and dancing their hearts out! Their current show is Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, and they have a slate of others this summer at Bowdoin College’s Pickard Theater. Grab Vietnamese takeout from The Red Envelope or their next door neighbor Mateo’s Hacienda to enjoy during the show.
Saturday morning If you have kids, stop by the Patten Free Library at 10am for one of their special summer events “Marine Mammals of Maine” - this group will share about how to care for animals you may see in and around the water in Maine. I wonder if there will be any special guests??? 🦈
Saturday morning 2 For the adults - join us on our Downtown Walking Tour - we begin at 9:30am right at the Bath Farmer’s Market. You’ll get a 5 dollar token to spend at the market. I am looking forward to heirloom tomatoes! 🍅
Saturday PM My friends and I have had our calender 🗓️ marked for this: Primo Cubano at the Waterfront Park!!! You will be up on your feed dancing 💃 to their infectious music. Grab dinner to go or ice-cream from The Fountain to bring down to the park. Or, grab a deck table at Bath Brewing and you can watch (and dance!) while dining.
Sunday AM Stop by bakery Solo Pane & Pasticceria on Centre St. This new to Bath bakery 🥐 is not officially “open” but is doing pop ups on weekends from 9am - 1pm (or so) - all the better to get in before the crowds! I have them to thank for a recent social media sensation (mild, but still) when I posted a photo (above) of their bakery window with the caption, “The people of Bath have spoken: Carbs are good.” 🤣 Afterward, join us for our Historic Neighborhood Walking Tour. We meet at 11am at the Library Park Gazebo (where maybe you began you weekend?!)
As always, check business Facebook pages to any updates re openings, specials, or changes. Have a great weekend!
