Things to do in Bath, Maine area in November 2023!
Fall comes to Bath, Maine - November Highlights
Bath, Maine - area activities and updates!
You may want to bookmark ⭐ this page and return as I will be updating it with new and timely events throughout the month.
Fall brings the most lovely light, setting Bath off so beautifully (see pic above). October was a mix - of weather, beautiful foliage, back to school routines and rhythms. The end of the month brought a devastating event - a deadly massacre in Lewiston, ending in nearby Lisbon Falls, that shook all of us.
Much of the national news coverage has touted Maine as being “one big small town” and heralding the strength, kindness, and fortitude of its “big heart.” Many events were cancelled or postponed while the manhunt for the suspect went on for over 48 hours. November is a chance to move forward, albeit with heavy, heavy hearts. The state has a web page with ways to get and give help. ❤️
The holidays are around the corner and with that comes downtown Bath’s annual “early bird” sales, mostly happening this weekend, Nov 3rd-5th. I am convinced you can save money 💲 by doing your shopping early, and this event is a real opportunity to do that.
Post - Covid, most stores are now offering sales over the course of a day or two (or three) rather than forcing you out of bed before dawn to get the best deals. 🤣 Follow your favorite store’s social media or websites - like Now You’re Cooking, Mockingbird Bookshop, and Island Treasure Toys - for details about their sales.
On Friday, November 3rd, the Chocolate Church hosts our own “Elton” - the Bath-based Yellow Brick Road: Elton John Tribute Band. A fabulous time will be had! UPDATE: This performance is SOLD OUT! (Performances you can catch later this month include Peter Yarrow, Primo Cubano and Pat Colwell - see the Chocolate Church’s full schedule and buy your tickets.)
Starting Saturday morning, November 4th, from 9 am - 12 noon, the Bath Farmers’ Market will be at their winter location, the Freight Shed, at 27 Commercial Street (also the home of Maine’s First Ship.)
Also Saturday morning, November 4th, at 10:30 at the Patten Free Library, the Bath Historical Society hosts Nathan R. Lipfert speaking about “The Bath Custom House.” Books will be available for purchase.
For kids and families Saturday afternoon, November 4th, beginning at Library Park at 3pm is the annual Trick or TROMP through downtown Bath (see cute pic above!) organized as a fundraiser for the Bath Food Bank by soggy dog designs.
Finally, Main Street Bath has a lovely calendar with December Highlights. This year’s Old-Fashioned Christmas will feature a “Downtown Gingerbread” theme - it all kicks off with Santa at Library Park on Saturday, November 25th at 4pm, a Christmas tree lighting, a barbershop chorus, and cookies!
Looking ahead so you can mark your calendar - Bright Night Bath is Friday evening, December 8th with all kinds of special events downtown.
